The Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Crop Physiology, Ecology and Genetic Breeding, is alsothe Ministry of EducationJoint International Research Laboratory of GeneticImprovementin Multiple CroppingSystemsandtheJiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Crop Bio-breeding and High-Efficient Production. The laboratory currently houses 86 staff members, including 44 professors and 21 doctoral supervisors. The laboratory is headed by Professor He Haohua, the former vice president of Jiangxi Agricultural University. The laboratory has long been dedicated to research and teaching in areas such as the breeding of new varieties of crops like rice, rapeseed, peanut, and sesame, the innovation of germplasm resources, high-yield theories and technologies, farming systems, andcropland ecology. Since the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the laboratory has received 21 scientific research awards, including 1 Second Prize of National Award for Science and Technology Progress and 6 first prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels. It has published 743 research papers, including 323 SCI-indexed papers, and 31 monographs. Additionally, the laboratory has developed 78 new crop varieties, obtained 37 national invention patents, and transferred 31 new varieties of rice, sesame, peanut, and other crops. Furthermore, it has achieved the industrialization of 8 technologies and products, including black rice food, rice seedling substrate, colorful rapeseed flower cosmetics, black sesame food, and colorful peanut, generating an economic benefit of 1.21 billion yuan. These research achievements have provided vital scientific and technological support for promoting industrial development, ensuring national food and oil security, and facilitating rural revitalization.
