Shijun Xiao, PhD Professor | Doctoral Supervisor
Dr. Shijun Xiao is the Executive Director of the National Key Laboratory of Swine Genetic Improvement and Germplasm Innovation, as well as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine (CAAV).
He has dedicated his career to the breeding of new local pig breeds and the promotion and application of advanced breeding technologies. Dr. Xiao has led nine major research projects, including initiatives under the National Key Research and Development Program of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and significant scientific and technological projects in Jiangxi Province. He has published over 20 academic papers in the field of animal genetics.
As a key contributor in his field, Dr. Xiao has received six prestigious awards, including the Second Prize of the National Award for Technological Invention (2011, R5), the Second Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award (2018, R5), the Special Prize of the Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (2022, R7), and the First Prize of the Jiangxi Provincial Technology Invention Award (2010, R5).
