Dr. Zeng focuses on the research of plant science, including plant productivity, physiology and ecology, involving to chilling, high temperature, drought and flood stress, and planting techniques, mainly related to field crops. Based on the theoretical and technical research on the synergy of high quality and high yield of crops,hesystematically solved the technical bottlenecks of low quality of cultivated land, non-matching of light and simplified rice production technology and non-synergy of high quality and high yield,to realizethe research objectives from paddy soil improvement and cultivation technology research and development to collaborative improvement of yield and quality. Currently, he presides over the project such as National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Key Research & Development Program of China (NKRDPC), Jiangxi Agriculture Research System (JXARS),andKey Program of Natural Science Foundation of Jiangxi Province, etc.
He has published more than100 papers in the journals on Carbohydrate Polymers, BMC Genomics,Field Crops Research,and Journal of Integrative Agriculture (JIA),etc. He was also the peer reviewer of SCI journal such as Food Research International, Food Chemistry,Frontiers in Plant Science (Review Editor for Crop and Product Physiology), JIA (Awarded ExcellentReviewer),Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Rice Science,and Agronomy Journal, etc.
He was awarded many Science and Technology Prize such as National Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fishery Harvest of Ministry of Agriculture, Science & Technology Progress of Jiangxi Province, Agricultural Water-saving Science & Technology Award of Ministry of Water Resources, andShennong China Agricultural Science and Technology second prize due to the important contribution on Agriculture Production and Food Security. He obtained the “Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand” Project of Jiangxi Province Talents, National Invention Patent of China, Utility Model Patent of China for two pieces, and participated in the compilation of two works. He also obtained the authorizedone national invention and utility model patents, led the formulation of four local standards,three agriculture focuses on technologies. He was also the member ofeditorial boardof the journal including Chinese Journal of RiceScience,Frontiers in Plant Science,Frontiers in Agronomy,Technology in Agronomy.
