Professor Xiao Youqun is renowned as“Master Teacher of Ideology and Politics Model Course” of the Ministry of Education, “Gold Medal Professor” of Jiangxi Province, and head of a provincial-level specialty program. She has received the first and second prizes for “Excellent Teaching Materials in Jiangxi Province once each, as well as the first and second prizes for Teaching Achievements in Jiangxi Province once each. In recent years, she has been primarily engaged in research areas such as “golden courses,” teaching teams building, and young teachers’ teaching ability improvement. She has successively developed two provincial-level high-quality online courses: “An Insight into Chinese Agricultural Civilization” and “An Insight into Chinese Agricultural Civilization - Chinese Idioms”, both of which have been recognized as national first-class “online” undergraduate courses and model courses for ideological and political education by the Ministry of Education.

She places great importance on team building, with her course team selected as a model course team for ideological and political education by the Ministry of Education and as one of the first high-level teaching teams in Jiangxi Province. She also attaches great importance to the training of young teachers, guiding them to participate in various teaching competitions at different levels, and has received the provincial “Outstanding Mentor” award twice. The teachers she has mentored have won the first and second prizes in national and provincial teaching competitions more than 30 times.
