On the morning of June 5th, Governor Mika Riipi of Lapland County, Finland, visited our University. President Wei Fuwen, an academician, met with Governor Mika Riipi and his delegation at Agricultural Science and Technology Park of our university. On behalf of the university, President Wei Fuwen warmly welcomed Governor Mika Riipi and his delegation, providing an overview of the university’s history, academic programs, talent cultivation, and faculty strength. The delegation visited the bonsai garden, engaging in discussions with teachers about the tree species, cultivation methods, and artistic significance of bonsai. They showed a keen interest in bonsai art and highly praised our bonsai teaching base.
Following this, a meeting between Jiangxi province and Lapland County of Finland was held in the conference room on the second floor of the university administration building. The meeting was hosted by Tu Anbo, the vice president of the Jiangxi People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Leaders and officials from the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, Jiangxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Jiangxi Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Nanchang University, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, East China Jiaotong University, and our university attended the meeting. Each participating unit briefly introduced the education, tourism, agriculture, culture, and school situation in Jiangxi province. They expressed hopes that Governor Mika Riipi’s visit would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Jiangxi Province and Lapland Province in the fields of education, tourism, agriculture, and culture, promoting the continuous development of friendly relations.
Governor Mika Riipi expressed his anticipation and confidence in the future prospects of cooperation between the two sides. He expressed his hope that through this in-depth exchange, the friendship between the two sides would become stronger, exchanges would become more frequent.
