The School of Political Science originated from the Marxism-Leninism Teaching and Research Department established in 1962. In March 2011, it officially operated as a secondary institution independently set up directly under the leadership of the school, undertaking the Pedagogical task of ideological and political theory courses for the undergraduate students, junior college students and graduate students, and uniformly supervising the teachers of ideological and political theory courses. We have a master's degree authorization stations for the first level discipline of the school's key construction discipline Marxist Theory; Three research institutions, namely the Research Center for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese characteristics, Rural Cultural Development, and Rural Governance. Among them, the Rural Cultural Development Research Center is a crucial research base for cultural and artistic science in Jiangxi Province.
We have faculty of 72 members, including 9 professors, 17 associate professors, and 16 master supervisors. Additionally, one national backbone of ideological and political theory teaching, one gold medal teacher & professor in general undergraduate universities in Jiangxi, one renowned teacher in ideological and political theory teaching in Jiangxi Province, five outstanding teachers of ideological and political course in Jiangxi Province (including one be rated as one of the “Top Ten” in the province), and one May Day Female Model in Jiangxi province; Two outstanding ideological and political teachers from Jiangxi Province and one Good Teacher in the Heart of New Era Students from Jiangxi Province were selected. In the past five years, we have won one second prize in the teaching and exhibition activities of ideological and political theory courses in national universities; Three first prizes in the teaching competition for young teachers in provincial universities; 3 first prizes and 4 second prizes in the teaching competition for young teachers of ideological and political courses in universities across the province. We also published 8 monographs, 5 textbooks, and over 100 high-end academic papers, and received 2 second prizes and 4 third prizes for social science achievements in Jiangxi Province, and 1 second prize for teaching achievements in Jiangxi province. Currently, there are 4 national social science fund projects and over 20 provincial-level scientific research projects under research.
