the JXAU School of Computer and Information Engineering was founded in September 2000 based on the Department of Computer Science established in September 1993, making it the direct successor of the Teaching and Research Section of Computer Science inaugurated in 1984.

With a growing team of 82 faculty and staff members, including 30 with senior titles, 20 holding doctoral degrees, 1 PhD supervisor, 11 master's supervisors, 1 academic leader in Jiangxi Province, 1 backbone teacher in Jiangxi Province, 1 young Jinggang Scholar of Jiangxi Province, and 1 Gold Medal Young Teacher of Jiangxi Province, the School of Computer and Information Engineering (referred to SCIE or the School hereafter) offers quality education to our 1,887 undergraduate students and delivers solid research with the 61 graduate students enrolled in master's degree programs.

The School offers a M.Sc. program in Computer Science and Technology (as a first-level discipline), with three research directions: Computer Application Technology, Computer Software and Theory, and Agricultural Big Data Analysis and Modeling. SCIE also co-offers a M.Eng. program in Agricultural Engineering and Information Technology.

The School currently hosts three undergraduate majors: Computer Science and Technology, Data Science and Big Data Technology, and E-commerce, with Computer Science and Technology being the first batch of branded majors in Jiangxi Province.

The School has housed the Key Laboratory of Agricultural Information Technology for Higher Education Institutions in Jiangxi Province and the JXAU Big Data and Intelligent Computing Research Center. As a certified Jiangxi Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, SCIE has constructed 12 well-equipped laboratories for Computer Basics, Computer Networks, Integrated Network Cabling, Microcomputer Principles, Embedded Software Development, E-commerce, Computer Software, etc.

Our faculty members have presided over more than 80 scientific research projects at/above provincial or ministerial levels, published over 100 academic papers in top-tier and renowned journals and conferences within the discipline, authored 6 monographs, and edited 14 textbooks (1 included in the National 13th Five-Year Plan for Textbook Development and 1 included in the Ministry of Agriculture Plan). They have also won 3 provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards, 2 provincial-level social science achievement awards, 3 Jiangxi Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards, and 1 Jiangxi Provincial Young Teacher Teaching Competition Award.

The School has established student innovation training studios, set up internship bases with leading enterprises, and actively organizes provincial-level competitions such as the "Blue Bridge Cup" Information Technology Competition, the "Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship" Challenge for College E-commerce Students, and the National College Students' Mathematical Modeling Contest. It has constructed a multi-level, multi-type academic competition system to promote learning and education through competition. The School has registered a cumulative total of 200 software copyrights, secured 13 provincial-level and above college student innovation and entrepreneurship projects, including 3 national-level "Internet+" college student innovation and entrepreneurship projects, and won over 800 awards, including national and provincial first prizes in competitions like the National College Students' Mathematical Modeling Contest, the National Blue Bridge Cup Information Technology Competition, and the Jiangxi Provincial Information Technology Skills Competition.

Focusing on service directions such as Agricultural Internet of Things and Blockchain Technology, 3D Dynamic Visualization Modeling of Crops, Intelligent Information Systems, and Rural E-commerce, the School has successively hosted national advanced training sessions on "Blockchain Technology and Its Application in Agriculture and Rural Areas" and Jiangxi Provincial advanced training sessions on "Digital Boost for Rural Revitalization". Through means such as the transformation of scientific research achievements, the dispatch of science and technology commissioners to rural areas, and summer social practices in rural areas, SCIE has deeply engaged in social services at the grassroots level in rural areas, contributed to agricultural intelligence and rural digitization, and proactively integrated into the strategy of rural revitalization.
