The School of Land Resources and Environment of Jiangxi Agricultural University has a long history, dating back to the disciplines of soil science and agricultural chemistry at Zhongzheng University in 1940. In 1997, it was formed by the merger of the original Department of Soil Chemistry, the Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Land Resources Management. The school currently has 5 undergraduate majors: agricultural resources and environment, environmental science and engineering, land resource management, geographical information science and tourism management. It has a first-level doctoral program in agricultural resources and environment, 4 second-level academic degree master's programs and 1 professional degree master's program, with 1841 undergraduates, 49 Ph.D. students, and 292 master students. The school currently has 9 provincial and ministerial scientific research platforms, 2 municipal key laboratories, 1 provincial teaching demonstration center, and 6 provincial teaching and scientific research teams.
At present, the school has 104 faculty members, including 15 with senior professional titles, 35 with deputy senior professional titles, 39 master's tutors, 14 doctoral tutors, and 77 teachers with doctoral degrees. There is 1 national model teacher, 2 people enjoy special government subsidies from the State Council, 1 people are outstanding teacher in Jiangxi Province, and 11 people have won the title of Jiangxi Provincial Talent. Since its establishment, the college has made great contributions to the good situation of agricultural development in my country, especially in Jiangxi, and formed obvious regional advantages and subject characteristics. Among them, it has disciplinary advantages in soil remote sensing and information technology application, land resource evaluation and utilization planning, etc., and has remarkable characteristics in the utilization and improvement of red soil resources, regional land resource utilization changes and its ecological and environmental effects, etc., and has cultivated a large number of outstanding agricultural talents and formed a number of research results.
