[History of the College]
The School of Engineering can be traced back to the National Zhongzheng University in 1940. In 1969, the Department of Agricultural Machinery of Jiangxi Agricultural College and the Department of Agricultural Machinery of Jiangxi Communist Labor University were merged to form a new department named as AgriculturalMachinery. In 1985, the Department of Agricultural Machinery was renamed the Department of Agricultural Engineering. In 1995, itwasmerged with the Department of Computer Science to form the School of Engineering and Technology. In 2002, the School of Engineering and Technology was renamed the School of Engineering. There are more than 150 graduate students and more than 2,200 undergraduate students.

There are more than 110 staff, including 11 senior teachers and 31 associate senior teachers. More than 85% staff posess master's degree and more than 40% staff posess doctoral degree including 2Ph. Currently, the school of Engineering possess 1discipline authorized to offer doctoral degree programin AgriculturalEngineering and1discipline authorized to offermasterdegree programin AgriculturalEngineeringas well as 1discipline authorized to offerprofessional masterdegree programin MechanicalEngineering. There are 6 undergraduate programs including Agricultural Mechanization and Automation, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing& Automation, Electronic Information Engineering, Agricultural Water Conservancy Engineering, Civil Engineering and Vehicle Engineering whereas Agricultural Engineering has been selected as the key construction disciplines in the9th,10th,11th and12th “Five-Year-Plan" in Jiangxi Province.Agricultural Mechanization and Automation has been approved as the first batch of brand majors of Jiangxi Province, the first-class characteristic majors and the "five-star" undergraduate majors of Jiangxi Province. The college has 3 provincial and department-level scientific research platforms,which are, Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Modern Agricultural Equipment, Jiangxi Provincial Animal Husbandry Facilities Technology Development Engineering Research Center, and Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Biological Optoelectronics and Application. The total value of practical teaching equipment is more than 50 millionRMB, with more than 40 professional teaching laboratories specialized in Mechanics ,Digital& AnalogElectronics, SCM& AutomaticControl,Vehicle Structure& Technology,IntelligentAgriculturalMachineryEquipment,StructuralEngineering,ManufacturingTechnology, BasicPhysics. The college also posess 1 Automobile & Tractor Driving Base, covering an area of more than 40 mu as well as 1 Engineering Training Center, equipped with laser machining, CNC simulation, CNC machining center, CNC lathe, electric spark forming machine, wire cutting machine and other advanced engineering training equipmen. The college has established more than 20 industry-university-research cooperation practice bases with scientific research institutes and enterprises inside and outside the province.
[Teaching and Scientific Research Achievements]
The College adheres to theway of combining industry, education and research, andtherebymade gratifying achievements in education and teaching, scientific and technological innovation, social service and other work. In recent five years, more than 100 staff in colloge of Engineeringhave presided over all kinds of scientific research projects, includingNationalKeyResearch& DevelopmentProjects, base projects funded by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, projects funded by NationalNaturalScienceFundationof China, agricultural major projects, key projects ofJiangxiProcinc, Provincial Key Research & Development Program in Jiangxi Province and more than 50other scientific research projects, accumulated project research funds of more than 60000 thousandRMB. Also, staff in the college published more than 320 papers, including more than 100 papers indexed by SCI, and were authorized more than 320 patents, including more than 30 invention patents as well as 5 technical achievements were transformed with the contract amount of more than 5 million RMB. The college has won 1 second prize of Undergraduate Teaching Achievements and 1 second prize in Graduate Teaching Achievements in Jiangxi Province; 1 first prize and 1 second prize in Scientific and Technological Progress of Jiangxi Province, 1 prize in national Science and Technology Promotion of Agricultural Technology and Fishery Harvest Award, 1 second prize in National Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Fishery Harvest, 1 third prize in Chinese Agricultural Machinery Science and Technology. Teachers and students in the college participate actively in social practice service through Science and Technology Correspondent Platform and carry out new agricultural mechanization technology trial demonstration and application in more than 20 counties (city / area) including Xinjian, Poyang, Ji’an, Xingan, Fengxin, with cumulative demonstration area of 6000 mu, radiation promotion area of more than 30000 mu, more than 100 service cooperatives which were reported many times by official media inluding Jiangxi Daily, Xinhua Network and other press, showing good social response from society.
[Student Work Style]

The college attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' innovation and entrepreneurship ability, and establishes an innovation practice center for students to attractthem to participate in competitions,totrain students with hands-on practice,togather students with excellent teams,The collegecondenses the "3332" innovative practice education new model, and promote students to participate in various innovation competitions. In recent years, students have won more than 1,600 provincial awards in innovation, entrepreneurship and discipline competitions such as "Internet +", "Challenge Cup", National College Students Robot Competition, International College Students Intelligent Agricultural Equipment Innovation Competition, and National Zhou Peiyuan College Students Mechanics Competition. There is excellent style of students’ study in the college, which could be told by positive growth in the number of recruited graduate students during last five years. In 2024, graduate acceptance rate has reached 37.04%. For 5 consecutive years, the college has been endowed as advanced employment group of Jiangxi Agricultural University. For 6 consecutive years, the college has been rated as the May 4th Red Flag Youth Corps Committe of Jiangxi Agricultural University and of Jiangxi Province. Futhermore, the college won honorary title of excellent national brand of“Three Rural Areas of Social Practice” project.
